The Chicago's Lakefront Neighborhoods Bicycle Tour is the tour that made Chicago bicycle tours famous - taking you off the tourist beat and onto the quiet neighborhood streets, city parks, and packed beaches of the North Side of Chicago, giving you a glimpse as to how Chicagoans enjoy their beautiful city.

Highlights include the Gold Coast Mansions, Oprah's House, the Playboy Mansion, Lincoln Park Zoo, Old Town Historic District, North Avenue Beach, and the Lakefront.

All ages and fitness levels will enjoy this tour, but children must be strong, capable riders!

You'll cover a lot of ground to sites more easily accessible by bike. Safety is always a priority and that's why our tours follow sidewalks, bike lanes, and parks virtually the entire ride.

We'll ride through Chicago's top shopping areas, the Magnificent Mile and the plush shops of Oak Street, meander through Chicago's historic district, Old Town, and breeze the leafy lanes of the most powerful neighborhoods, home to the likes of Oprah Winfrey and Hugh Hefner.

Chicago's trendiest nightlife and world-renowned restaurants await us as we cruise up Rush Street. A 30-minute break at a café/beer garden nestled in the heart of Lincoln Park gives way to a gorgeous lakefront ride and one of the most impressive skyline views in the world.

With miles of lakefront, it's hard to know where to go. We'll zero in on the most exclusive spots that you won't find on your own.

Chicago is home to big business, incredible wealth, and huge mansions right on the lake.

• Lincoln Park
Chicago's "front yard" encompasses 1200 square acres of botanical gardens, zoos, beaches, and lagoons.

• North Avenue Beach
With beautiful sand and wonderful downtown views, its where young Chicago comes to play in the summertime and a highlight you won't find on any other tour.

• Magnificent Mile
Home to the world's top shopping and nightlife, we'll cruise through and even ride up Rush Street.

FREQUENT QUESTIONS:

Q How long is the tour?
Each tour is at a relaxed pace, covering 7 mi/11 km in 3 hours, including a 30 minute break at a quiet, outdoor cafe/beer garden.

Q Do I need a bike?
No, we will provide a cool Schwinn Beach Cruiser, along with helmet if you want one. Each bike has its own name and comes equipped with a basket if needed.

Q Is it strenuous?
Ridiculously easy riding! 7 mi/11 km, including many stops for our guide to entertain with stories of Chicago. We also stop at a nice little outdoor beer garden towards the end of the tour.

Q What if it rains?
If it happens to rain during the tour, we'll provide raingear. Tours are only cancelled if it is pouring rain at the tour start time.

Q What can I expect?
Expect to have fun! Chicago was recently given the title of "best bicycling city in North America" by Bicycle Magazine. You'll have the chance to learn about Chicago's fascinating history while meeting other fun travelers. You'll cover more ground then a walking tour, and feel the pulse of the city.

Q Where does Oprah live?
She actually has a couple of places she owns around Chicago. The tour actually starts right in front of her main house above the Ritz. She is a huge fan of the tour and she might even wave to us.

Q Should I tip the guide on the bike tour?
